Your bowling registration fee and/or your sponsorship dollars go toward the Leukemia Research Foundation and specifically the Jessica Shayne Magid “Chai” Chapter, one of 20+ chapters dedicated to The Leukemia Research Foundation’s mission to cure leukemia by funding innovative research, and to support patients and families. As the nation’s largest nonprofit focused exclusively on funding leukemia research, the Foundation has invested millions to accelerate the development of new and better treatments and an ultimate cure for leukemia. Your donations support research that enables investigators to complete studies around this world to ultimately find a cure for blood cancers.

I wanted to provide a statistic from the LRF site that exemplifies our advances in research in the last century:
“Due to advances in treatment, there has been a dramatic improvement in survival for people with acute lymphocytic leukemia, from a 5-year relative survival rate of 38% in the mid-1970s to 65% in the late 1990s. Survival rates for children with acute lymphocytic leukemia have increased from 53% to 87% over the same time period”Every penny counts to continue advances in the treatment of blood cancers and ultimately a cure to eradicate these diseases.
